Bye Energy and Gevo, Inc. Announce Agreement for Renewable Aviation Fuels
DENVER, Colorado – January 14, 2009 – Bye Energy and Gevo, Inc. announced today a development agreement to jointly explore opportunities for the marketing and distribution of renewable aviation fuels to small and medium-sized airports.

Gevo has developed an integrated technology process (GIFTTM) that converts sustainable resources including cellulosic sugars into hydrocarbon-based aviation fuels and renewable chemical intermediates. Bye Energy is an integrator of alternative energy and renewable fuel technologies for business and general aviation markets.

“Gevo is an ideal partner for renewable aviation fuel technologies” stated George Bye, CEO of Bye Energy. “Gevo’s GIFTTM technology enables the cost-effective production of renewable hydrocarbons such as aviation gasoline and jet fuel that meet ASTM specifications.” The process has already been proven at the pilot plant scale and these renewable aviation fuels offer the business and general aviation operator an alternative to petroleum-based products that substantially reduces their carbon footprint.”

“Bye Energy has extensive relationships and contacts with airport owners and operators,” stated Dr. Patrick Gruber, CEO of Gevo, Inc. “They have a lot of insight into the business and general aviation markets. We are looking forward to working with the Bye Energy team to establish relationships with the airport owners and operators and to ultimately provide them with renewable, high-performance aviation fuels,” said Gruber.
